Baby Sleep Chart

I was given this very useful information about babies sleep and wake patterns by a friend. She used it on her first baby (now 3 years old) and then again the second time around on her new bub.

I've found this information invaluable as it has helped me to get Angus in a routine;  his routine not mine, which makes all the difference especially for settling.

Establishing a regiment of feed, play, then sleep is another "must do" early on that will help to keep you sane and bub happy. It wasn't until I combined the table of information regarding a baby's sleeping requirements with the regiment of feed, then play then bed that it all came together for us.

I have a printed copy permanently on my fridge, and it gives me (and my husband) a sense of security having something to refer too and for when Angus' patterns start to change (which they will do as they get a little older and go through growth spurts).

All babies are very different, and as such you may need to change these sleep or awake times to suit your baby’s individuality. This information should be used only as a helpful guide. Your baby’s “tired signs” should be observed. Up to 4 months these may include the following: grizzling, jerky movements, fist clenching & sucking.
